Born 1954 in West Orange, N.J., Mitchell Rosenzweig received a BFA in painting from Penn State University, University Park, PA. in 1981.
His abstract mixed media paintings overflow with layers of controlled chaos that are comprised of paint, paper, and other materials that create a multi-dimensional surface. Rosenzweig states, ‘My paintings evolve through many changes and layering which occur though periods of long duration. Most of my paintings are completed in no less than two years.’
Mitchell has participated in a number of group shows in the Northeast including at Sono Fine Art, Norwalk, CT, Denise Bibro Gallery, New York, NY and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, Ogunquit, ME. He has shown in numerous exhibitions across the country including at the Attleboro Museum, Attleboro, MA and the Moses Kent Museum, Exeter, NH.
