Thomas N. Graves is the definition of a marine artist. Raised in Santa Barbara, California within walking distance of Hendry’s Beach, he would spend hours watching the endless forms the waves created as they rose up and broke cascading their white foam.
He is an experienced sailor who currently races and cruises his J/37c sailboat, Bad Dog on Long Island Sound and is a member of Cedar Point Yacht Club, Westport, Connecticut.
His realist canvases are inspired by the sea, sea life and seafaring: they are the drivers of his paintings. He is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists. He paints from his studio in Fairfield County, Connecticut. His work is exhibited in numerous public and private collections.
